A group of high school students from Pennsylvania were injured on a bus that was traveling to visit Harvard University. The accident occurred when the bus crashed into a bridge. The collision resulted in 35 people being injured. Some were seriously injured in the incident, which could be relative to the magnitude of the collision or the fact that buses commonly do not have safety belts for the passengers. The mother of a 16-year-old boy who was on the bus says that her son was seriously injured in the accident, but he is now alert and able to cooperate with doctors.
The Massachusetts state police are investigating this incident, and details surrounding the cause for the crash have not been reported at this time. Those who were injured in this collision or an accident like this might be eligible for a personal injury claim if it is found that the driver or another party was negligent in causing the collision. The money awarded in such a claim would pay for any expenses incurred due to the incident. Costs such as medical bills, rehabilitation, damages and pain and suffering could be covered.
Not all accidents can be prevented, but often the severity of the collision and the injuries can be reduced. It is crucial that drivers and passengers wear their seatbelts, and it is important that drivers watch their speeds and remain attentive.
