Stroudsburg is the county seat of Monroe County, Pennsylvania. It is a borough located in the Poconos region, approximately five miles from the Delaware Water Gap, at the confluence of the Brodhead and Pocono creeks. Its population was 5,756 at the 2000 census.

The courthouse is an imposing structure, described as a Richardsonian Romanesque-style building. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and features native sandstone, arched windows, and a clock tower.
