As a trial Lawyer for multiple decades, in 2018, Tom Blackburn expanded his practice to include Family law. Generally, his practice covers the areas of Bucks, Montgomery, Lehigh and Northampton Counties. He seeks to restore justice and provide compassion and comfort for those who have been challenged with the hardship of a broken family. He is frequently in court advocating for Custody, Support, and Equitable Distribution. Applying his experience in criminal law, he is also comfortable with issues relating to protection from abuse petitions, as well as Childline reporting and investigations.
The firm’s strategy in these matters is to restore relationships where possible, and to avoid the “scorched earth” approach many in the legal field seem to enjoy. In contrast, common sense, positive communication, and even forgiveness can provide the best long-term solution for family disputes. Of course, a priority is placed on “the best interest of the children”, particularly over time. At the same time, we fully understand that many disputes cannot be resolved without significant litigation. When necessary, we are prepared to go to trial.
