VEHICLE STRIKES BUGGY IN LANCASTER, INJURES FIVE

Pennsylvania residents are aware that people in numerous ways use the roadways. Various motorized and un-motorized vehicles can be seen on the roadways, and whether it is a truck, automobile, bike or buggy, an accident could happen at any time. No matter the type of vehicle, a serious collision could result in serious injuries and severe damage.
Authorities recently responded to a collision in Lancaster involving a SUV and a horse-and-buggy. The car accident occurred around 8:20 p.m. when the buggy was pulling out of a driveway. The SUV, which was traveling eastbound, struck the buggy, ejecting the four occupants from the buggy.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene of the accident and assessed those involved in the accident. An infant, two 3-year-olds, a 2-year-old and the 27-year-old driver were injured. All were transported to the hospital to be treated for the injuries they suffered. In contrast, the driver of the SUV was not injured.
The buggy was completely destroyed from the automobile collision.
The accident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time. The cause of the accident has not been determined, but if the driver of the SUV is found to be at cause, they could be liable for the resulting injuries and damages.
A person injured in an accident like this could file a personal injury claim. This could result in compensation that could help cover any medical bills, rehabilitation or damages.
